It is a great place to learn many good things from others. A community has many features depending on whether it is a tribal community, rural community, or urban community. In this lesson, we will be learning some important question-and-answer discussions related to the types of communities, their features, problems, and facilities available in rural , urban and tribal communities.

Answer: Yes, this is a beautiful picture of a village with many houses. Since it is a village, it belongs to the rural community.
2. What are the features of the community according to Ravi’s story?
Answer: According to the Ravi's story, the features of the community are:
- Ravi belongs to a rural community (village community)
- All workers are agri–laborers in this community.
- Members help each other.
- Ravi's father is an old man so he is dependent on others for his work.
3. Write the aspects identified by you in the given pictures.
Answer: In the given pictures, I can find three types of communities. They are rural community, urban communities in the second picture and the last one is tribal community.
- In the rural community, I can see pictures of fields, farms, and livestock. Most of the people here work as farmers. According to the pictures, houses here are made of natural materials like bamboo, mud, grass and stone.
- In the urban community, I see that there is heavy traffic, roads are full of vehicles, and buildings are very tall and are modern in looks.
- In the third picture is the tribal community as I see people live in forests. They are wearing traditional clothes and they have hunting instruments in their hands. They live in huts.
4. Differentiate between agricultural and non-agricultural activities in the following
Answer: Agricultural activities involve farming and livestock rearing. The common things that farmers do are as follows:
- Sowing seeds into the soil
- Ploughing
- Irrigation or supplying water to crops.
- Removing weeds or waste plants from fields
- Use of chemical sprays to kill pests and insects.
- Harvesting or cutting the crop
Non-Agricultural activities do not involve farming. Some of these are as follows:
- Pottery work
- Knitting and basket weaving
- Craftwork
- Welding, cutting and painting iron equipment
- Black smiting
- Carpentry work
5. Write the various occupations that people of cities do.

- Office work
- Manufacturing goods.

7. What are the problems faced by people in villages?
Answer: Most village people live in small houses where there are no proper basic facilities such as water, electricity, and sanitation. They also face problems with health care, education, transportation, and jobs.
8. Write any one program, implemented by the government for rural development.
Answer: Rozgar Yojana and Jawahar Gram Samruddhi Yojana for educated youth in villages to set up their own small scale industries. Other projects includes Vikas Yojana (RSVY), the Indira Awas Yojana (IAY), the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY).
